Talkin' politics

Posted by BlackDevilX - October 19th, 2008

With the impending election coming up in November, there has been alot of content popping up about Obama vs McCain, and im not just talking about newgrounds. All over the media.

Anyways, there is a morning show i listen to called the "Tom Joyner Morning Show".

Anybody from the NYC area who listened to 98.7 kiss fm years ago or, in western New York who listens to WBLK in the morning or other place in the United states should know this show. I dont want to go and make an assumption that ONLY black people listen to this show, but a majority of its listeners are black.

Anyways, on these shows, they support Obama, and they are talking about change, and all this stuff, which is fine, but theres one question on my mind that is troubling me as a black man.

Would these shows support obama if he was a republican?

Or are these radio shows just broadcasting people to vote for the black guy? Now i have heard them over the years and when it comes to election time, they usually ridicule both parties, but this one they are promoting Obama.

They also have a hot line number if people have felt they have been encouraged to vote for a specific party, but you know what, these radio shows are doing it. The encourage people to vote, and then blast Pro-Obama content. Isnt that encouraging a party to vote? People shouldn't vote for a guys just because of the color of his skin, but for the reasons he is campaigning.

What do you think, NG?

Update: FrozenFire provided this video of a radio interview. This is the pinnacle of what im talking about. They dont know whats going on! Clearly its skin color, however they hide behind their so called 'political knowledge'.

I think cock joke.

I think you're immature.

ILU2. <33

Maybe they're supporting Obama because they hate McCain?

I think they are supporting obama because he is black/

There are people like that on both sides, people vote for Obama because he is black, and people vote for McCain because he isn't black.

We just have to learn to live with these morons.

But a black republican candidate is rare. The station is democratic. Would they support obama?

A lot of racist Democrats are voting McCain.

So I don't see why they wouldn't.

Which is sad, because they are voting for the white guy. Maning all these elections they could care less about who wins. To them, its just a white guy in office...

*ahem*
sorry i had something in my throught

there's this white power band called arghoslent and in a recent interview one of the guys in the band said "yeah im voting for obama, bush is a redneck failure blablalbablbla" and i was like *whoa*

and then the other member started talking about evil jewish porno or whatever

Ok....?

Well i am personally for Obama for many reasons and i don't need to go into detail there, but i think you rite, or at least partly rite. You see, what people don't understand when they do stuff like this there still being racist. Its like if you were trying to prove you weren't racist and you said "I'm not racist because i voted for Obama." that is very racist you voted for him because he was black?

If you think about it it doesn't really matter in the end because even if that show is making him look good just because he is black all it can do is get him more votes, then he'll win and all the stuff he said he will do he'll do so it doesn't really matter but its still wrong

I am not voting for obama just because a show told me to. I am voting because of what he stands for.

Im not american but I watch American politics sometimes, what I've been hearing is that some people, are calling him " Obama bin ladin, etc. " and racism was involved somehow...

Its because is names Barack Hussein Obama. People say Hussein;OOOh Saddam Hussein'

yeah i know you would but for all the idiots out there

This is why america is going down the drain. People voting because of skin color or political standing. NOT what they are bringing

exactly

i kno this is completly off the subject of ur post but do u think u could pm me some cool tips in flash.

I'd like to pretend that i know something about this, but i'm not from the USA, sorry BDX..

You dont have to be from America to know about race discrimination in politics. If your leader of your country was elected because the opposing council was of some other ethnic background, you'd find this unfair.

I think Im mexican so Im not concerned?

Jusit kidding I hate Mccain. he has to be the whitest most christian most republican man ever to postulate.

if he gets president. Goodbye to all minority asses

Hed probably die before hed go far. He's like what, 80?

I totally agree that race shouldn't be an issue for any election, but unfortunatly in our culture, it is. Obama could have completely opposite ideals, but if he's black, he's going to get mass amounts of attention for being black. This is unfortunate, because people should care about the issues someone stands for, not how they look.

Exactly.

I agree that skin color should not be the basis for a vote.

I think the leaders of some coutries would be more willing to talk to a president who was not white, but I think Obama would be pushed around by them. He hasn't really shown me he could stand up to someone.

Some say he stood up to President Bush, but that seems to be because the democrats wanted him to. I have yet to hear him stand up to them. And by stand up, I mean vote the opposite of what the majority of democrats voted. Present doesn't count.

I think that, so far, when he has stood up to someone, he was doing so at the behest of one of the groups that support him. Democrats, in the above case.

I don't like him as the potential president because what I know of him. I wouldn't mind voting for a minority, but there were better choices.

If he is elected, I will pray that God guide him to do the right thing. Not out of worry or fear, but out of a sincere desire for him to be better than what I think he would be. I would like to be proven wrong if he is elected.

It's nice to be proven wrong (though some things I take longer to accept). It shows I don't know everything, and gives me greater faith in God.

I hope this comment is what you had in mind. Thanks for giving me a chance to write.

Honestly, because of his skin color, and americas ignorance, i think hell be assassinated. There are some die-hard people who would rather die then to see a black man take office. I pray for that not to happen.

i think they should vote on them because of the reasons they are campaigning . oh and, candidaes can be girls to, not just boys.

yeah and if McCain dies the internet will be destroyed and we'll have to hunt wolves for food :O

I think you should edit this into your post.

That is clearly what im talking about. They dont even know what there talking about. They don't know the issues or for what each side is for. They doing it because he is black.
